Literature Text

“Doug calm down you're not that short.”  You said the loud-mouthed red-head in the back seat of your car.  He was yelling at Dylas about how much he hated the Fitness Gram.  “Doug it is just height and weight it won’t kill you.”  You said in a relatively calm tone.
“But F/nnnnnnnnnnn!”  He whined.  “I’m only 168 centimeters!”  He hit his head on the back of your head rest, causing you to glare at him through the rear view mirror.
“Doug you are not the shortest boy at our school.  Now shut up and act like the junior you actually are.”  He groaned, but didn’t talk back to you.  You pulled into your parking spot at school, and practically kicked the boys out.  You got your back pack and got out of the car, locking it once you were out.
“-Dylas just because you are tall-”  “HEY I wish I could go through the doorway without ducking-”  “I will never get a girlfriend with this height!”  “What about Clorica then?”  “Sh-Shut up!  She’s just a friend!”
They were arguing again.  “BOYS.”  You yelled.  They both stopped bickering and looked at you.  “Thank you.”  You whispered rubbing your temples.  You swear they were like Maximus and Eugene from “Tangled”.  You waved to them as they went to their first period.  You sadly had Health first, which meant weight and height tests first.  Sighing, you shouldered your bag and made your way to the health classroom.
“Alright class!  We have two scales, and two height charts, so please in the next 30 minutes find your height and weight!”  Your loud health teacher yelled.  You made your way to the weight line.  You weren’t particularly bothered by your weight, but you still didn’t like the concept of others seeing your weight.
“Oh well.”  You sighed and stepped onto the scale when it came to you.  You mentally noted the numbers and stepped over to the height line.  You looked at the people in front of you.  Currently Forte was attempting to measure herself, while Leon insisted he help her get a proper reading.  You chuckled, they were always arguing.  It came to you, and you put your back to the centimeter tape on the wall.  Leon put his hand over your head.
“(Your height) F/n.  I think you’ve grown.”  He said.  You stuck your tongue out at him and made your way back to your seat to record your data.  You turned in your paper and turned around to find yourself face-to-face with Kiel.
“Oh sorry Kiel I didn’t mean-”
“It’s fine.”  He cut you off, turned in his paper, and went back to his seat without a word.  You looked at him inquiringly.  He was normally one of those inhuman people who are always happy at the butt-crack of dawn.  You went over to his desk.
“Hey are you alright?”  You asked, leaning on the top of the desk.  He nodded.  “Are we still studying this afternoon?”  You asked, attempting to get him to do more than nod.
“Why wouldn’t we?”  He asked, knitting his eyebrows together.  You gave an awkward laugh.
“I don't know.  No reason.”  You answered, going back to your seat.  You and Kiel had started to study at your house every Thursday since he was bad and his Japanese class and you were bad at English.  (IRONY HAH)

*time skip brought to you by Vishnal’s cooking (sorry!)*

“Ok Doug, Dylas, don't kill each other till tomorrow, okay?”  You called out the window as you dropped them off at Dylas’s house.  They both nodded and Doug gave you a thumbs up.  You turned to the unusually quiet blonde boy next to you.  “Alright Kiel.  What part do you have to work on when we get there?”  You asked, trying to start a conversation.  He shrugged.  “Really man what’s wrong?  You're acting so weird.”  You said, turning the corner onto your street.
“Nothing is wrong F/n.  Really.”  He gave you a half-hearted smile and went back to looking out the window.  You grumbled something sassy under your breath.  You pulled into your drive way and parked your car.  You both got out, and you unlocked your front door.  “Your parent’s aren’t home?”  He inquired.  You shook your head.
“Mom is hanging out with her friend Lin Fa and dad is still at work.”  His mouth made an “o” as you finally got the stubborn lock to obey your will.  You held open the door, and he dropped his stuff by your couch and sat down.  You joined him momentarily, and pulled out your Lit book.  “Teach me Senpai.”  You said, facing Kiel.  He took the text book from you and opened it to the page the homework is on.
“Ok so what did you get for number one?”  He asked, scooting closer so that you both could see the page.  You were glad he was looking at the book, because the close proximity made you blush fiercely.
“Uh…um… I skipped it…”  You mumbled.  He scolded you for not trying hard enough.  He was so cute when he was angry…
“F/N!  Are you even listening to me?”  He said with clear exasperation in his voice.  You smiled guiltily and shook your head.  He sighed, and began again.  Once he had helped you brave your lit, he pulled out his hiragana flash cards.
“I will pass my Japanese test.”  He said, handing you the flash cards.  You two went through them a couple times before you stretched your back, and deemed it was time for Doritos.
“Kiel I am going to get so Doritos you want any?”  You got up from the couch.  He nodded and added:
“Yes please.  The original kind.”  You nodded and winked at him.  (You go to where ever you put your snacks and get Doritos Haha.)
You plopped back onto the couch and tossed the red bag into the boy’s lap.  You basically inhaled your bag, making Kiel’s eyes pop.
“Did you even taste them?!”  He questioned.  You nodded, wiping the dust off of your face.  You two sat in silence for a while, before Kiel spoke up quietly.
“F/n can I ask you something?”  You turned to him and nodded, just now noticing how close he was sitting next to you again.  “Would you date a guy who is shorter than you?”  He asked bluntly.  You narrowed your eyes at him.
“Why you thinking of asking me out?”  You teased him.  He blushed a new shade of red.  “I’m just kidding calm down.”  You said, lightly punching his shoulder.  He let out a breath.
“But really would you?”  He asked, looking at the floor.  You looked thoughtful for a moment before replying.
“I don't care what height my significant other is as long as he loves me then I’m cool.”  You said finally.  He looked up at you with his wide eyes.  “Now I have to ask you a question Kiel.  Why were you so upset earlier?”  You asked, putting a light hand on his shoulder.  He looked back at the floor.
“The height and weight test…”  He mumbled barely audible.  You looked at him confused.
“What's wrong with your height and weight?”  You asked, generally curious.  Kiel looked at you like you were crazy.
“F/n.  I’m 53 kilograms and 160 centimeters.  I can’t play any sports; I can’t defend myself, nothing.”  He slumped over.  You were generally surprised.  Kiel was not the type to be conscious of his looks, but you guess everyone is at some point, so why not him too?
“Kiel look at me.  You are perfectly fine the way you are, so don’t worry about it, okay?”  You didn’t realize you held one of his slightly smaller hands in yours until you let go.  He looked you in the eye, and you could see his grayish orbs filling to the brim with fresh tears.  You wrapped your arms around him and ran your hand up and down his back.
“Oh my god Kiel please don't cry I will cry too.”  He put his hands on the small of your back and laid his head on your shoulder.  You put your forehead on his sandy hair.
“H-Hey F/n?”  Kiel stuttered.
“Hmm?”  You acknowledged.  Kiel took a shuddering breath.
“What would you do if I told you I loved you?”  You let go of him and held him at arm’s length, and gave him a very serious look.
“Probably kiss you are something, why?”  You replied nonchalantly.  If Kiel could have shrank to the size of an amoeba at that moment, he would have.  “Unless you don’t want me to.”  You added.  He shot his eye back at you.
“Oh no!  That’s not what I meant I mean I would love it if you did that but- CRAP.”  He cursed, his face turning maroon.  You choked on your spit.
“EH?!”  You practically squeaked.  “Wait, you like me?”  You asked, giving Kiel an off-hand glance.  He squeezed his eyes shut and nodded.  “Aaaaand I like you…so in theory…”  You trailed off.  He glanced at you.
“F/n?”  Kiel said quietly, putting a gentle hand on your cheek.  You looked him in the eye.  “I-I like- no.  Love you.”  He said extremely quietly.  You gave him a quick peck on the lips and smiled.
“I love you too Kiel.”  You replied once again wrapping your arms around him.  He let out a sigh.
“F/n can I just say I never want to confess again.”  He stated, scooting down so he could tuck his head under your chin.
“Then you're just going to have to stick with me for a while won’t you?”  You said, playing with a piece of his hair.  He nodded.
“I may just have to.”
